For international travelers

Everything you need before you fly.

Bangladesh rewards the prepared traveler. Here's the practical guidance we send every guest before their first journey with us.

01

Visa requirements

Most nationalities need a visa to enter Bangladesh. Visa on Arrival (VOA) is available at Dhaka (DAC) and Chittagong (CGP) airports for citizens of many countries including the US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia and Japan — valid for 30 days for tourism, USD ~50 payable in cash.

For a smoother arrival we strongly recommend applying for an e-Visa or a sticker visa at your local Bangladesh mission before departure. We provide a formal invitation letter and confirmed itinerary to support your application at no extra cost.

Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from arrival with two blank pages.

02

Safety & health

Bangladesh is warm, hospitable and safer for foreign visitors than most guidebooks suggest — provided you travel with a reputable local operator. All our journeys include a private English-speaking guide, private vehicle and 24/7 support.

Tap water is not potable — we supply sealed bottled water throughout your trip. Recommended vaccinations: Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus. Malaria prophylaxis is advised only for the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

We carry a first-aid kit on all trips and maintain relationships with the best private hospitals in Dhaka and Chittagong should anything be needed.

03

Best time to visit

November to March is the classic season — dry, cool (15–28°C) and ideal for the Sundarbans, hill tracts and heritage circuits.

October and April are shoulder months: warmer, greener, fewer travelers.

May to September brings the monsoon — dramatic skies, waterfalls in Sylhet, empty tea gardens and lower prices, though river travel in the Sundarbans is limited.

04

Airport pickup

Every Panorama Bangladesh journey includes complimentary private airport pickup and drop-off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC), Dhaka.

Your driver will meet you inside the arrivals hall holding a name board. We track your flight in real time, so delays are handled automatically.

Prefer to be met before immigration or need help with Visa on Arrival? Ask us — we can arrange a fast-track meet-and-assist service.

05

Packing essentials

Lightweight, breathable clothing in neutral or earth tones. Long sleeves and long trousers for evenings and cultural sites.

Modest layers for women visiting mosques or rural areas — a light scarf is versatile. Comfortable walking shoes for old Dhaka and hill treks. Sandals for boats.

Sun hat, high-SPF sunscreen, insect repellent, refillable water bottle, universal adapter (Type C/D/G), and a small daypack. Binoculars are wonderful in the Sundarbans.

06

Cultural etiquette

Bangladesh is a warm, welcoming Muslim-majority country with strong Bengali cultural traditions. A few small courtesies go a long way.

Greet with a smile and 'Assalamu Alaikum' or a soft 'Namaskar'. Use the right hand to give, receive and eat. Remove shoes before entering homes and mosques.

Dress modestly outside of hotels — shoulders and knees covered. Always ask before photographing people, especially women. Alcohol is not sold openly; we can arrange it discreetly at licensed venues on request.
